The 8th district covers almost half of San Francisco and all but southeastern San Mateo County. Communities in the San Mateo portion of the district include Belmont, Brisbane, Broadmoor, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, El Granada, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Highlands-Baywood Park, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Montara, Moss Beach, Pacifica, Portola Valley, San Bruno, San Mateo, South San Francisco, and Woodside.
